lyrics
You're free to be loved at last. I will never burden you again. Your tears were undeserved. The jar of notes you wrote might as well be a jar of teeth. Though beautiful, they haunt my room. I could never bare to read another word. The blinds are still broken, the sun creeps in, illuminates and outline of you. I knew an angel. She suffered loss, yet I made her wounds large enough for me to crawl in. I knew an angel, she forgot my name. I did it to myself. She was never to blame. I knew an angel who forgot my face. Her bed was fire and my body kerosene. So I wouldn't lay there and risk another life. We'd diffuse bombs. We'd walk marathons. We'd take on whatever together, but I have her no longer. This is for you: I will close my eyes, let got of the wheel, count to ten. Close my eyes, let go of the wheel, let it end.
//
Taking the long way home. Where I go, you don't know. Never ever leave me alone.
I knew an angel. She forgot my name. Because I took the wings from her back. I'm the one to blame. I knew an angel. She forgot my face. Because I clipped the wings from her back. I'm the one to blame.
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
